Dr. Stephanie McCubbin was born in Ware, Massachusetts, April 2, 1915. Her parents were Andrew and Henrietta Godek who had immigrated to the United States from Poland. She graduated from the Norwich Academy and pursued higher education in junior college and also attended college in Poland while visiting relatives there. It was at this time in her life that Hitler invaded Poland and altered Stephanie’s plans.
She became interested in chiropractic care after seeing the dramatic results obtained by a local chiropractor on her mother who suffered from migraine headaches. After one year at the Missouri Chiropractic College she transferred to the Kansas State Chiropractic college in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from that school in 1948.
In the meantime she had met and married Curtis S. McCubbin while at Logan and thus they made all the school transfers together and graduated together from the Kansas State Chiropractic College. This was to be the beginning of not only a loving, 43 year marriage but a lifetime partnership in chiropractic for them both as they practiced together for 41 years until her death, June 2, 1990.
Dr. Stephanie and her husband, Dr. Curtis started practice in Dallas, Texas, January 1949. Practice went well for the two D.C.’s and their office at 112200 Garland Rd. in the White Rock section is still in operation by Dr. Curtis.
