He returned to San Antonio and joined the faculty of the Texas Chiropractic College in March 1938, teaching Laboratory Techniques.  In November, 1942 he entered the Air Force during World War II, and was discharged due to age in 1943.  He returned to the Faculty of the Texas Chiropractic College.  To meet the needs of instructors holding College Degrees in their subject, he enrolled at St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas in the Fall of 1943.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Chemistry Major in May,1947.

In September 1961, he was appointed Dean of the Texas Chiropractic College and is serving in that capacity at the present time.

Because of our Basic Science Law which was passed in 1949, the College was taxed severely to meet the new legal requirements.  In 1952 Dr. Troilo worked out arrangements with the San Antonio College whereby the students of the Texas Chiropractic College receive the 60 semester hours in the Basic Sciences in coordination with their four years of Chiropractic, thus qualifying for their Basic Science Certificates.  This program went into effect February 2, 1953.  For this achievement the Keeler Plaque Committee of the Texas State Chiropractic Association awarded Dr. Troilo the Keeler Plaque at the Galveston Convention in June 1954.  Since Dr. Troilo arranged this program with the San Antonio College the school has earned a national prestige.
