I was born in Waco, Texas, September 6, 1901. Attended school in Fort Worth, Texas and San Antonio, Texas. R.C.C.D.C. degree February 1, 1921, Ph.C.T.C.C. 1925, E.E.C. Degree 1948. Was former chairman of the Board of Governors of Texas Chiropractic College, Delta Sigma Chi, T.C.C. February 28, 1924 T.C.C. Alumni and Past President of same.
The reason I studied chiropractic was because my mother had been an invalid for six years and had her heath restored by a chiropractor. She is still living and in good health and almost eighty years old. her father was a medical doctor.
I was former president of S. A. Chiropractic Association, County District and Breakfast Club, President of T.S.C.A. 1941- 45. former member of old U.C.A., I.C.A. and Honorary member of I.B.T.R.I. former secretary-treasurer of the chiropractic coordinating council of state association, national and international organizations and chiropractic school and officers.
Deacon of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Vice president of Men’s Bible Class for 1962. Member of National Chiropractic Association T.C.C. Alumni, District 10, T.S.C.A., Bexar County Chiropractic Society. Mason, Shriner, Eastern Star, Past Noble Grand, Odd Fellows, Past Exalted Ruler Elks #216, now in fifteenth year of Board of Trustees of same, Past president Fraternal Building Syndicate. Member Lions Club, Life member of the Exhausted Roosters Club, Honorary Member Elks and Anglers Club.
On board for Anglers Club since 1937 and Past President of same, 1941-42-43-44 & 1950. On Boys Club Board of Directors since 1938 and Past President of same, Member of the National Boys Club. Former Scout Master Troup 33. Chairman Elks War Commission of Texas. 1940-46 Civilian Recruiting Officer Eighth Service Command. Charter member S. A. Junior C. of C. 1920. Former Treasurer of American Red Cross Hospital, served three terms 1943-44-45.
Member Bexar County Democratic Executive Committee and Chairman Special Affairs for same. Member of the Gavel Club. Lectured all over Texas and in various states.
Among the many citations, citizens awards, local state, national and international starting in 1937 are all phases of youth activities, plus raising money for same through drives before and after United Fund and community were started here in S. A.
Was awarded all honors possible including Honorary Mayor of Old San Antonio, Honorary Citizen of State of California, plus many cities in Texas including Dallas, where my name appears on the Adolphus Hotel “Register of World Famous People.” Have also been quoted in newspapers all over the world about chiropractic.
Of national awards – Army and Navy, Elks Award, Bronze Keystone from Boys of America, 1955 and Keystone with Silver Star, 1960 for outstanding work. Selected most popular sportsman of the World Series of Sport Fishing and made honorary member of Iceland, Sweden and Costa Rica Anglers Clubs.
In sports was “Angler of the Year” in San Antonio, four times. Have won many fishing contests including the Texas Tarpon Rodeo, the Mens International Sail Fishing Rodeo and finalist in the World Series of Sport Fishing in 1960.
During World War II donated all services, including X-ray, to all men in service without any fee. Of course, you know I am married to Kitty and we have three children and six grandchildren. One daughter married to a chiropractor. We are raising two of our own grandchildren.
He was awarded the Keeler Plaque in 1939 for outstanding service to chiropractic.
