August 2023

Things are heating up with the Texas Chiropractic Association.
At the end of the month, Team TCA is headed to court to represent Texas chiropractors in the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine v. Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners lawsuit. While TCA isn’t named in the case, we are an intervenor.

The acupuncturists contend that Texas chiropractors lack the education and training to perform chiropractic acupuncture and, even worse, are a public safety risk – even if there are practically no examples of chiropractors injuring patients with an acupuncture needle.

The trial was scheduled for Monday, August 28, at the District Court of Travis County in Austin. Any threat to chiropractic scope of practice must be taken seriously, which is why TCA stepped in (yet again!) to protect the rights of Texas chiropractors.  When the trial wraps up in late August, it will take weeks and perhaps even months for a verdict.
